Abu Dhabi City Tour

Discover the real heritage and culture of the United Arab Emirates’s capital on this fascinating Abu Dhabi city tour!

The tour begins at the magnificent Sheikh Zayed Mosque - the 8th largest mosque in the world accommodating up to 40,000 worshippers.

This mosque is the burial site of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder and the first President of the UAE, after whom it is named.

After aprox. 45-minutes visiting the mosque you’ll continue to the Heritage Village for a glimpse into the simple life and times before the discovery of oil.

Your expert guide will entertain you with fascinating stories and facts as you explore the mud-brick houses, traditional mosque and market reflecting the true culture and traditions of the Emirates.

Strict regulations at the Sheikh Zayed Mosque:

  • Intimate behaviour (eg. holding hands or kissing) is not acceptable in a Muslim place of worship.
  • For safety and respect to worshippers, visitors should stay within the areas of the mosque that are permitted and not roam freely around.
  • Smoking and food are not allowed in the mosque area.
  • Visitors are requested not to touch the Holy Quran (Holy Book) and other architectural elements inside the main prayer hall.
  • Children must be supervised at all times by parents.

Important: What to wear

You will be visiting religious buildings on this tour, so please adhere to the following dress code:

  • Modest, conservative, loose fitting clothing; long sleeves, long skirts and trousers.
  • Headscarves for ladies is essential
  • No transparent clothing
  • No shorts
  • Skirts must be ankle length.
  • No tight clothing, swimwear or beachwear.
  • Shoes will be removed when entering the mosque, so we recommend slip-on shoes.

Transfers:

  • Transfers are included from central Abu Dhabi hotels
  • If you are staying in a hotel further from the centre, such as Qasr AL Sarab, Tilal Liwa, Desert Island Resort, Al Yamm Villa Resort, Al Sahel Villa Resort, Desert Island Resort & Mirfa Hotel, you will be given a central meeting point for pick-up.

Times:

  • Your pick-up time will be confirmed when you call to confirm your booking, but should be around 9am
  • Please ensure that you are in your hotel lobby or at the designated meeting point at least 15mins before your pick-up time.
  • Drop-off time will be approx. 2.30 - 3pm.

Duration:

Your city tour will be around 4 hours, but please allow approx. 6 hours in total including transfers.
