Getting Around in Barcelona

Trixis
  • “Trixis” are three-wheeled cycle taxis which can take two passengers.
  • You can find them along the waterfront near the Monument a Colom and in front of La Catedral, between March and November.
Bus
  • Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (www.tmb.cat) buses operate along most city routes, with many passing through Plaça de Catalunya and/or Plaça de la Universitat.
  • The buses run from 5-6am to 10-11pm. After 11pm, night buses run approximately every 30 to 45 minutes until 3am or 5am.
Car
  • Many of the larger car rental companies have offices at Barcelona Airport and the main stations.
Train
  • Barcelona’s Metro system “Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona” (www.tmb.cat) operates 7 colour-coded lines.
  • The Metro runs from 5am to midnight Sunday to Thursday, 5am to 2am on Friday and days immediately before main holidays, and 24 hours on Saturday.
